Our target
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across editorial pages, quizzes, results, progress controls and flashcards.
The website is designed to support:
- keyboard-only navigation;
- visible focus indicators;
- semantic headings and landmarks;
- labelled form controls, fieldsets and legends;
- text zoom to 200% without loss of core functionality;
- colour contrast that does not carry meaning alone;
- touch targets of at least 44 by 44 CSS pixels;
- reduced motion preferences;
- restrained live-region announcements.
Quiz timing
Only the full mock has a required practice timer. Quick, topic, mistake, favourite, difficult and daily modes are untimed. The full mock provides a non-interruptive five-minute announcement and submits when time expires.
Keyboard shortcuts
Where focus is not inside a form field, quiz shortcuts include 1–4 for answers, left and right arrows for navigation, F for favourite and R for review. Every action is also available through a visible control.
Flashcards support Space or Enter to reveal, right arrow to continue, K for known and R for review. Shortcuts are optional.
Static content without JavaScript
Editorial pages remain readable and navigable when JavaScript is disabled. Interactive quiz, local progress and flashcard functions require JavaScript because they operate in the browser without a server.
Report an accessibility problem
Email contact@lifeintheuktest.online with the page, browser, assistive technology if relevant and the action you were trying to complete. Do not include sensitive personal or immigration information.
We prioritise issues that block study, prevent keyboard use, obscure content or produce incorrect assistive-technology output.
